Hi, I'm Rostislav Zotin

I am an independent Bitcoin advisor based in Switzerland and support affluent private individuals, families, and companies in German-speaking Switzerland in securely, self-custodially, and intergenerationally storing their Bitcoin.

My journey with Bitcoin began as early as 2014. Back then, I lost 5 BTC on the platform bitcoin-24.com, which suddenly went offline. A painful but educational moment. Years later, I experienced another setback: A somewhat larger sum was in BTC on a paper wallet that I had generated in 2021 and stored as a PDF in cloud storage – out of concern of losing it during computer changes or other moves. Unfortunately, the file was not additionally encrypted. Presumably, an administrator gained access. These two experiences have vividly shown me how quickly and avoidably Bitcoin can be lost if self-custody is not implemented consistently and professionally.

With over 20 years of experience in developing and operating large digital platforms (including at Ringier AG and MTV Networks), I bring a solid understanding of complex technical systems, security, and user-friendly solutions. For several years, I have intensively tested and used various hardware wallets (BitBox, Ledger, OneKey) as well as advanced software solutions like Liana and Sparrow. I know the practical challenges, strengths, and weaknesses from my own use – from the correct handling of seed phrases and passphrases to multisig setups and robust documentation.

My Focus

I focus exclusively on the technical and organizational side of Bitcoin self-custody and inheritance:

• Secure setup of hardware wallets and robust multisig configurations
• Geographic and personal distribution of keys
• Practical inheritance planning and integration into existing wills
• Clear emergency and access processes for emergencies
• Long-term, understandable documentation

My Approach

I advise personally, on-site, and at eye level – primarily in the Zurich area and German-speaking Switzerland. It is important to me that you not only receive a technically flawless solution in the end, but that you also truly understand it and can manage it securely yourself in the long term. I do not sell hardware, coins, or investments. My advice is completely independent.

Why I Do This

Many people in German-speaking Switzerland have already theoretically engaged with Bitcoin but shy away from the step to true self-custody – for good reason. The risks are real. I want to help you significantly reduce these risks and secure your Bitcoin so that they will still be safely with the right people in 10, 20, or 30 years.
